A Fresh Perspective on Bungalow Interiors

When you think of a Craftsman Bungalow interior, you likely picture traditional finishes: deep colors, natural wood trim, built-in bookshelves and maybe a Stickley chair or two. But five Pacific Northwest companies are collaborating to offer a fresh perspective on Bungalow interiors: The Bungalow Company, Colorhouse Paint, Rejuvenation Inc., Clayhaus Ceramics and McCoy Millwork. They’re also offering $500 to spend at Rejuvenation, 5 gallons of Colorhouse Paint (your choice of colors), and a set of 8 custom tile coasters from Clayhaus Ceramics – giveaway ends 9/27/2015

In modern day Bungalows, interiors range from strictly traditional to edgy modern even with classic exterior elements. You know that cliche, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” You might not guess that the interior of this Bungalow Company designed home is entirely contemporary.

Bungalow Company designer, Allyn Jeans, sat down with Puji Sherer and Lynn Morgan of Colorhouse Paint to choose color palettes for three distinct bungalow interiors: traditional, transitional and contemporary. All of the colors were chosen from Rejuvenation, Inc.’s Mercantile Color Collection by Colorhouse Paint.

Here’s an example of one color palette designed for a Bungalow with a Transitional interior: meaning a style with elements that vary from traditional to contemporary. You can see all of the palettes in an interactive post on the Bungalow Company blog.

And it’s just not about color. You’ll also find inspiration for lighting, tile and millwork, like these selections for the Transitional interior.
