Windows to the Soul

Photography by Genny Moller

When Emilia Callero redid her family’s dining room, she knew she wanted something bold that referenced her family’s love of travel. “I needed a punchy statement,” says Callero, principal designer at Emilia Interior Design & Decor. “As a color lover, I don’t feel comfortable with just neutrals surrounding me.” Patterned curtains, while back in a big way in the world of interior design, can be tricky if the right amount of balance isn’t incorporated, Callero says. She found it in these Zama Print Linen curtains from Pottery Barn, which read like an Indian block print. “Curtains can make a room — they really are the windows’ best outfit,” Callero says.
